About the Play
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead by Tom Stoppard is a profound yet incredibly amusing tragicomedy centred around two minor characters from Shakespeare’s Hamlet. It can be called a classic of modern drama and is a definite must-see.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are asked by the king himself to find out why Hamlet has been behaving in such a strange way lately. While trying to find Hamlet, the two pass their time with sometimes philosophical, sometimes absurd, but always witty banter. They meet travelling actors along the way that cause quite a stir. Finally Hamlet and half his royal suite appear…are you ready for a spectacle? Because, as we all know: “the readiness is all”!
